Rocky Mountain is a Managing Partner of Daylight Partners, a venture and private equity firm in Austin, Texas and sits on the Board of several of their portfolio companies include Pawngo (www.pawngo.com), UpCity (www.upcity.com) and SODA (www.reviews.com).
Rocky led a subset of Daylight Partners in raising funds to capitalize Frontier Renewal, LLC, sits on the Board of Frontier Renewal and is the General Partner of Frontier Nightlight II, a fund which invests in the real estate deals of Frontier Renewal. Rocky is also involved in a number of real estate projects in the Central Texas area.
Prior to these ventures, Rocky was a senior executive at Dell, Inc. for fourteen years where he grew the public-sector transactions and warranty business to a $4B business unit, heralded a $20M turnaround effort in the Consumer Business Unit, launched multiple low-cost offshore call centers, and had O&L responsibility for a number of different sales and marketing business units. His last role at the company was Vice President and General Manager of Dell’s US Consumer Business, where he had P&L responsibility for the $10 billion business unit.
Prior to Dell, Rocky spent ten years in politics where he founded The Galt Group, a political consulting organization providing services to Republican candidates, marketing and advertising services to emerging companies and fundraising services to non-profit organizations. Additionally, Rocky was also Chief of Staff for a Texas Congressman and worked in the Texas Legislature in staff roles for the Senate Jurisprudence Committee as well as for a Texas State Representative.
